The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

The War between my Neighbors

Makes War of the Roses look tame!!

Well this weekend I was outside doing a lot of work on the acreage, yes fifteen acres to deal with! Cate calls me Eva Gabor from Green Acres but she hasn't seen me with my pruners going nuts, Rattlesnake protectors on my legs and stained baseball cap. Totally none SOF! But I digress.

I was outside working feverishly in my yard, pruning, weeding, feeding etc., swearing that Mother Nature was not going to win, when I hear a small aircraft. It is buzzing my home! Yikes, doesn't the FAA have some rules on how low you can fly over people's homes? Then it happened a second and a third time, fourth and fifth! It was like a Kamikaze pilot taking aim on our area. The plane would fly over my house each time heading back to the same spot! Who was this crazy?

Well, LB calls the following day and I'm telling her about this. It was strange to say the least and I wanted to know if she had experienced the same thing.

NO she hadn't since her home was further away but here is what she tells me. Some of the Flaunt Fab Forty are having a war! Yes, war has been declared because evidently one of them has started renting out her grounds for weddings. Plus she has a Guest house on the property that she is also renting out. When I'm talking Guest house here, it has four bedrooms, living room, full kitchen and views to die for! So the other neighbors are furious with her. They don't like strangers walking around in the neighborhood and a band playing at night! Problem is there are no CC&R's where this property is. So evidently the neighbors have called Code Enforcement to come out. But in the meantime they got wind of a wedding that was going to be held on Saturday.

What do they do? You aren't going to believe this! They hire their Gardeners to come late Saturday afternoon and weed whack. Lovely noise for the wedding guests to listen to. Wonder if the Bride and Groom could hear their vows being said?

But this wasn't all! They leave piles of horse manure at the front of her gate that of course have to be cleaned up. And then to top it off one of them is a pilot and has their own plane so they fly over the property while the wedding service is being held! That was my Kamikaze pilot!

No I'm not kidding about any of this!!! Unbelievable but true!!!

Moral of the story, don't tick off your neighbors when they own their own plane!! Or have access to unlimited horse manure!!

P.S. This is going to make it hard to have everyone over for cocktails. Oh I hate it when I have to divide people up into compatible groups. Gheez, it is always something!
