The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

Super Bowl Partee!

I was on the phone today with LB and the Super Bowl weekend came up. I asked her if she was going to give a Super Bowl party.

LB: "Ooooh, I hadn't thought about that but it could be fun. I can just prepare everything and keep the food flowing while everyone watches the game. I don't know anything about football."

Moi: "You have to know something, after all Mr. B is always talking football."

LB: "No actually I don't know anything. Well, I mean I do know they go to the left and then go to the right. And then there is something like first and 10 and then they make a homerun. No that is baseball. I don't know they get points by running over some lines."

Meanwhile I started laughing about the description of; they go to the left and then go to the right. Note: I'll call Boomer tomorrow and tell him to add that to his commentary!

Moi: "They go to the left and then they go to the right," I repeat back through my laughter. "Weren't you a cheerleader?"

LB: "Oh God no! I was too tall. And I knew they would choose me to be at the bottom of that human triangle they make and that wasn't going to happen. And if I kicked my leg up in the air I probably would have kicked someone's head off."

Moi: Still laughing at this picture she has painted, I continue on. "I would have sworn you were a cheerleader in high school."

LB: "No, no, I was on the drill team. Now that was an adventure."

Moi: "What do mean?"

LB: "You know the fog that would roll in usually at half time when we had to perform?"

Moi: "No I was on the East coast and fog at half time was the least of our problems."

LB: With a slight note of indignity, "Well, here in California it was! But anyway, that fog would come in just as we started our performance. I would leave the stands with straight hair looking like Cher and return looking like Roseanne Roseannadanna."

Moi: At the thought of that picture I really start laughing now. "Are you sure it wasn't Sally O'Malley?" As I chant Sally's cheer, "I like to kick, stretch and kick. I'm 50, 50 years old."

LB: "Thanks sweetie, that would have been you."

Moi: "Ouch! One point for your team!"

And now we were both laughing so hard we were crying! * Roseanne Roseannadanna and *Sally O'Malley on the same drill team. Now wouldn't that have been worth the price of admission?

Bye-bye. We are off to practice our kicking!

Left... right. I'll have to keep that in mind. This will then be the ONLY thing I know about football. Thanks for the info and the laughs ladies!
