The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

Pumpkin Bread with Philadelphia Cream Cheese Swirl

By Chef Franco Lania

Ingredients:

1. 1 1/2 cup -Pumpkin puree

2. 1 cup - Brown sugar

3. 1/2 cup - Sugar

4. 3 - Eggs

5. 1/4 cup - Milk

6. 5 Tbsp. - Butter

7. 2 3/4 cups - Flour

8. 2 tsp. - Baking powder

9. 2 tablespoons - Cinnamon

10. 8 oz. - Philadelphia cream cheese

11. 1 - Egg

12. 1/3 cup - Sugar

Procedure:

1. In a large bowl, beat together the pumpkin, brown sugar, sugar, 3 eggs, milk, butter, flour, baking powder and cinnamon until well-mixed. In a second bowl, beat together cream cheese, egg, and sugar.

2. Generously grease and flour a large bread pan.

3. Spoon a thin layer of the pumpkin batter into the bottom of the bread pan.

4. Make a well in the center of the bread and spoon half the cream cheese filling inside.

5. Cover with another pumpkin batter, then swirl the rest of the cream cheese into that layer before covering all signs of cream cheese with one last layer of pumpkin batter.

6. Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until a toothpick poked into the center of bread comes out clean.

Let the pumpkin bread cool, once removed from the oven, in its baking tin. Once it is cool enough to handle turn it out. This is absolutely delicious with simply a cup of coffee or your favorite tea.

Not to mention that the aromas from the cooking should have you smiling from ear to ear!
