The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

Fads Come and Go!

Or

"The 17 Day Diet"

Some of the Flaunt Fab Forty decided to see the movie Bridesmaids recently and then follow it up with dinner. We arrive at the theater to purchase our tickets and what do we immediately see but two women that were at the very "minimum" 50 pounds each over weight. Normally this would not have been something that would have been remarkable. Having just been in a fast food restaurant for a Protein burger with no sauce, no cheese, no ketchup I noted that 90% of the women there were overweight. And we aren't talking 20 pounds!

Note: We are not perfect but we do have pride in how we look. We ask, "What is wrong with the American public?"

But getting back to these two women; seeing them brought up the topic of diets. OMG, we were all on the 17 Day Diet plan and I must tell you that it is wonderful. You have to do exactly what they recommend but the weight will fall off of you. Want to lose 10 to 15 pounds in 17 days. Oh dear students, then this is for you! But what is amazing is that you are eating healthy. Yes, no gorging on masses of red meat and cheese here.

Think "no" fat Greek yogurt with fruit, salads, turkey, chicken, fish and veggies! Green tea and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate with lots of water. Just fill your frig with what you need to eat, get rid of the junk food so as not to be tempted and get the scale out. Weighing every day is tantamount for success. Sounds so simple, it is!

I must admit though at day 4 thru 7 I had a carb attack. All I could think about was a cracker. Just one cracker. I wanted to kill for that one cracker. You get the picture. But I told myself to go do something else and this too would pass. It did! And the scale was my reward!!

Remember students, summer is just around the corner and you can't use a sweater anymore to cover up with! Get the book and follow it to the letter. Not only will your body thank you for it but those slacks that you thought the dry cleaners had shrunk, Viola, they are going to zip up nicely now! Just think you have dropped a dress size. Nothing better than that! Well, maybe ten new pairs of Jimmy Choos or Christian Louboutin heels might be just as good. No stop! Being a dress size smaller is better!!

Oh, we can see you in those True Religion jeans with a great pair of platform heels on! No need for Spanks now! Aren't you the School of Flaunt Diva. Sassy, chic and slightly edgy. Dancing with the Stars might even be in your future. O.K. we know we are getting carried away now. But you are going to look and feel so much better.

Fad diets come and go but rest assured this one is a keeper!

Honey can you get me some yogurt at the store?

Alexandra

P.S. The plane scene in the movie was hysterical! Reminded me of some of my flights. "I'm an Air Marshall!" Go see the movie!

Since I read this blog post on June 6th, I've lost eleven pounds! I'm also reading the book "Eat To Live" by Dr. Mehmet Oz. You never know how bad some foods can make you feel and look until you remove those items from your diet! Thank you for this post! I have shared it on my facebook page for others to read.
