The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

On the Road with Red!

Who is Red? Well, she is an older woman who requires expensive upkeep but someone you want to be seen with! Or I shall rephrase that, you want to be seen in. Red is my Porsche who comes out only on good weather days. That is why a Lady of her age still looks so good.

Unfortunately, recently she required a major overhaul with her engine. Happens to best of us even with low mileage like Red. A small aside here, we do address issues like this, which we all know are called "plastic surgeries," in the School of Flaunt handbook. Upkeep is so necessary whether you are a beautiful car or a beautiful woman. And we don't forget you men either. What is good for the goose is good for the gander too. Or whatever?

But getting back to Red. We were having a lovely drive when in my rear view mirror what do I see, but a big, bad, black, Benz barreling down the road upon us. In the back of my mind I thought, "Who are you kidding, Red still has it in her and I could blow you off of the road." But common sense set in since that has gotten me into trouble before.

Flash back: I was stopped by one of the state's finest on the freeway.

Officer: "I bet this drives better the faster you go?"

Moi: "Well, as a matter of fact she does really hug the road the faster one goes."

Note: Even with plenty of eyelash batting I still got the ticket but he did lower the speed I was doing. Only 10 miles over instead of 25. I must be losing my touch. Normally they just say, "I won't give you a ticket today but slow down." Remember practice batting eyelashes!

Continuing flash back:

Officer: As he hands me the ticket, "Now you won't be speeding anymore will you?"

Moi: "Of course not officer." And then I winked.

He turned his back to me because I could see him starting to smile. Men do love that wink! A few seconds later he turned around composed.

Officer: "Now you have a nice day and I'm sure you will be not hugging the road?"

Moi: "Never again." (With a smile) Meanwhile thinking, until I just want to feel that little rush of power one more time. So much fun! I could see him starting to smile again as he walked off.

But I have digressed, who was in the Benz? As it started to pull up to me, I heard in my ear my blue tooth ringing. I answered.

Moi: "Alexandra."

LB: "I thought that was you up there in Red. Got any tickets today?"

Moi: "No, but you are going to get one!" I could hear laughing on her end now.

LB: "Hey, lets takes the boys out for dinner tonight? Roy's Hawaiian sounds good. What do you think?"

Moi: "We're there! What time?"

LB: "Early! They've got a great happy hour. Meet you in the bar at 5PM. Then we can do dinner afterwards. I'll make a reservation for 6 PM so we can be home early. Sound good?"

Moi: "See you there."

As I hang up I'm thinking; I must do a Flaunt Foodie Restaurant review on Roy's. I do like that place!

Meanwhile LB takes off down the road in the Benz. I thought long and hard about putting the petal to the metal. With my luck they'll stop me and not her! Plus she doesn't care she has "cold plates" on her car. It always helps to know people in law enforcement.

Zoom, Zoom, Zzzzzoom!

Alexandra

P.S. Flaunt Foodie Restaurant review will be coming shortly on Roy's Hawaiian.
