The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

Back to Chicago with Mummy!

Back to Chicago with Mummy!

So, Mummy has healed and her new "face" looks lovely. Now she and her BFF, Evelyn, want to stop off in Chicago to see the new apartment and do some decorating! That is hiring some decorating. We travel easily to ORD and limo downtown. First, a quick buzz through the apartment and I must say the view of the lake is amazing. I love the street name, East Lake Shore Drive! Second, we whisk our way to the Peninsula to check in and have lunch.

The Peninsula main dining room is lovely and the lite fare delicious. They also serve a wonderful Tea, so will have to take part. Tonight, however we go to Art Smith's Table 52. If you recall, Mummy's new friend, Oprah, insisted she dine there. I secretly want to return to RL as I loved that restaurant. So much to see in Chicago!

Back to the apartment and the designer interviews begin. Evelyn has a clipboard and ushers the designers in for a meeting with Mummy. These conclude quickly as Mummy has definite "ideas" and some of the Designers were upset with her demands.

Mummy:    Cate, who is that handsome man you told me about that, was coming out with a book on interiors?

Moi:           Oh, That would be James Swan; He is just publishing a new book: "101 Things I Hate About Your House".

Mummy:    He sounds perfect. Get him over here.

Moi:           Mummy he is in Beverly Hills or New York working.

Mummy:    Cate, dear, I was just in New York! Why did I not meet this man?

Moi:           Mums, remember your bandages and bruises? Did you really think about this?

Mummy:    Well no, I did not, but I am thinking now and I need to speak to James Swan! I love his name. Perhaps I will incorporate some swans in the loo in his honor!

Moi:           I know James will be thrilled. (Eyeballs are rolling, now.)

So James if you are reading this, please do call my cell! Mummy beckons! I cannot help but wonder what he will say about my mother, bless her little heart!
