The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

That is the Question.

Well, now I'm sure you all think I'm talking about spinning classes at your local exercise club. Oh no, my dear students of flaunt. This is about those small white balls called ping pong balls! What you want us to play "ping pong," how plebian. Wait just a minute before you dismiss this idea.

We have big news for you. Susan Sarandon and some of her other friends and investors are starting Ping Pong Clubs. Yes it is true! Susan and pals have big plans to take the game to hotels now to play. Private clubs are just around the corner too. They are even talking about the possibility of having SPIN ping pong available at the Sanderson in London. Cate are you listening here. London!

But what is SPIN? We are not talking table tennis in the basement now. Oh no, this is about serious competition where you learn to spin the ball at different angles and have it move at lighting speeds. Your paddle which is referred to as a bat becomes you weapon of choice in the game. Plan on spending $100 to get the perfect one! How to learn? Like anything else it requires practice and probably a good teacher.

So what do you need besides your bat? Obviously plenty of ping pong balls and remember for SOF style keep them in a champagne bucket. Nice touch, don't you think? And of course you will need a table. Here is where it gets tricky. You can get one that folds up or go custom like you will see in the clubs. Frankly, we would suggest starting to play at a club and if you really like it then turn in your pool table for the ping pong table. Or maybe just build an addition for everything. I can see it now, pool table, ping pong table and popcorn machine! Now we're talking.

All we can say is, "this is going to be one large man cave at home!" Now go smash some little white balls. So much easier on the hands and elbows than tennis! And it will be for fun for the kids too. Maybe a little World Champion waiting in the wings at your home?

Happy Spinning,
