The School of Flaunt

Back when "Flying Was Fun" Alexandra Smythe and Cate Clarke were Flight Attendants with a Major International Carrier. Prior to Private Jets coming into vogue, Alexandra and Cate traveled in the First Class World, meeting and greeting the top celebrities, politicians who would become Presidents, nouveau riche, and yes the occasional Headline Grabbing Criminal in Handcuffs!

What the two ladies viewed and experienced became fodder for the School of Flaunt, so much money, such bad taste and oh those terrible manners. Something had to be done! Hence, The School of Flaunt Handbook was born. Read More

Children Bully buying Our Cars?

Children Bully Buying Our Cars?

I have just witnessed my first Bullying Commercial. A cute kid is challenging all kids to have "cool cars" that they will be proud to enter at School pickup. Really?

There is one poor child who does not want to acknowledge his loving father because his station wagon is "tacky." (For lack of another word.) The poor child is hiding and the Dad does not understand. This is a sleazy bit of advertising at best.

What have we become? Car companies are bullying our kids to whine for better vehicles with appropriate video games, etc. Shame on you Toyota, shame!

We at the School of Flaunt love fancy shmancy autos. Note Chapter Eight on SOF Motoring Vehicles. But if you cannot afford said new vehicles, we would never shame you into a purchase. Let alone imply that your children would not love you for driving an older car.

This has got to stop. Companies are bullying our children into bullying us.

The School of Flaunt does not endorse this behavior. Children should be taught good manners and to hold one's head high even if they do not "LOVE" the family car.

They can grow up, attend a good college, graduate school and buy their own Porsche.

That is until they have children of their own and have to switch to the dreaded: MINIVAN!

Touché,

Cate

New Money. Old money folks won't fall for the advertising. They're proud of their old, rusty volvo's or mercedes station wagon. They won't be 'bullied' into anything flashy or tacky. Nouve Riche....
